Kenneth C. Underwood

An architect and manager with over 20 years of experience, K.C. has always embraced collaborative practice models. In addition, he seeks to blend the design needs of projects with the technical needs. His varied experience has led him to view projects holistically, allowing him to focus simultaneously on design, schedule adherence and budget adherence.
He has led numerous projects in K-12, Higher Education, Workplace, Municipal and Federal markets. These projects have included new construction and a number of challenging and extensive renovations. In addition to his project experience, K.C. has focused on practice management for over a decade, including a key role in the core leadership team that led a previous firm to win a Fast 50 Award from the Triangle Business Journal. He has also been active in the community, serving on numerous community boards and committees. He has served on the Board of Directors of AIA/NC and as President of the Eastern Section of AIA/NC.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture, Minor in Architectural History, from the University of Virginia and a Master of Architecture from Syracuse University. He is licensed to practice in North Carolina, South Carolina and New York, and is NCARB Certified.
